An extravaganza of Art & Fun. “ Where Great Art & Good Fun go Hand in Hand” Art exhibitions and competitions Street entertainment and much much more. For 12 years people have enjoyed the Kenilworth Arts Council exhibition competition and the Poets Breakfast. Which both remain on the programme. Over the last few years we have seen the festival grow to a nine day Art Adventure with the addition of:- The $15,000 Kenilworth Art Prize with an exhibition of the 15 finalists, which attracts 300 entries in 9 categories with $500 prizes in each section, the 10 x 4 Day Artists Workshops, Street Entertainment, the Symphony Concert, the Bikers Art X posed exhibition and the Poets Breakfast have all been enthusiastically supported by art lovers from around Australia. This year we see the addition of:- The LGI- Arts Council Trophy. The winner of this prize will be chosen from the winners of the seven open categories in the Kenilworth Arts Council Competition. The winning artist will receive, in addition to $2000 cash from Landfill Gas Industries, a magnificent trophy created by noted wood artist Peter Farkus especially for Kenilworth Celebrates! Kenilworth Celebrates! “A World of Wildlife” A wonderful display of wildlife from around the world painted by members of the Queensland Wildlife Arts Society. You can watch a QWASI artist painting on September 25-26 & 29. Join in and help paint a Community Painting drawn by Sandra Temple. This “Masterpiece” will be auctioned at 5.30pm Friday October 1. at the venue with proceeds going to the Kenilworth Arts Council. Exhibition opens 12.00am St John Bosco Church Anne Street Kenilworth. All who attend the exhibition are welcome to contribute to the community painting. The Kenilworth Celebrates! Art/Craft & Fun Markets. 20 Stalls will include: Sand Wizard – Sand Art. [Create a picture for laminating and taking home]. Face Painting with Pip Almost Rural. Liquorice/Fudge/Nuts/Dried Fruit. Cake stall by Mary Valley Scouts And Many More Saturday the 25th of September from 7.00am Kenilworth Festival of Short Films. Showcasing the work of Community Filmmakers. Past & Present- Classics and Prize-winners in Drama and Documentary will be shown. Even a cartoon or two. Wednesday September 29 and Saturday October 2 at Kenilworth Museum’s Roxy Cinema. From 10.00am Kenilworth Rural Fire Brigade Open Day Sausage Sizzle. from 10am. Saturday September 25 Drinks available. Fire-fighting demonstrations, car washing and raffles. Blazer Bear will be making appearances around town throughout the day. Poets at Play The poets will return to the show grounds at 1.00pm Saturday the 25th and will play follow the leader poetry for yours and their own entertainment .
